Travelling the world is something anyone should be encouraged to do. It broadens the horizon and allows people to experience the various cultures that exist across the globe.
It can, however, be an expensive adventure.
By the time you have to sort out flights, accommodation and everything else that comes with travelling, you could easily have spent a fortune.
That isn’t the case with adventure traveller and entrepreneur Derek Low, however, who has written about his voyage across the United States solely by train and spending just $213!
Starting in San Francisco and ending up in New York – via Salt Lake City, Denver and Chicago – Low gives a fascinating insight into his journey, sharing endless photos and going into great detail about how the trip took shape.
Arguably, the most scenic and historic of all the train routes in America is the cross-country journey from San Francisco to New York. As you climb through the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas, and further east through the heart of the Rockies, you may find it hard to disagree.
The journey took four days and covered 3,397 miles – you can’t help but read it and be tempted to give it a go yourself.
